Volunteer in Projects

Participate in any of our unique monthly or year-round projects. Participate once, monthly, or every few months.  You are welcome to help with multiple projects or just one – we appreciate your time!

And if you’d like to take a deeper dive and lend your coordinating, organizing and leadership skills to a project, then volunteer to be a Chair/Co-Chair for a project by seeing a project through from start to finish. This is a  great way to make a big impact over a short time. Check the “Lead a Project” box on the Volunteer Engagement Form and a G4G team member will be in touch.

Volunteer Your Skills

G4G is always looking for individuals with specific skills and talents to help us do more and do better. Whether it be with marketing and social media, grant writing, fundraising, in-kind donation solicitation, photography, community organizing…we value your talents! Check the “Volunteer Skills” box on the Volunteer Engagement Form and indicate the ways you can help and a GFG team member will be in touch.

Be a Driver For Good

Our monthly projects often result in hundreds, if not thousands, of items collected for those in need, in addition to volunteer-made meals and other goodies. Being a Driver For Good means you get notifications when driving help is needed to deliver items from one place to another and you can volunteer based on your availability.  Drivers must be at least 18 years old, have a car and a valid driver’s license. Check the “Be a Driver for Good” box on the Volunteer Engagement Form.

Whatever you choose to do, you will have support from us here at G4G. Our goal is for your experience to be fun, educational, and rewarding for you, while supporting GFG’s mission.  Just fill out a Student Engagement Form to register as a Student Volunteer and get started.

Looking for inspiration for community service hours? Here’s what some others have done:

  • Lila (age 12) made 8 Birthday-In-A-Boxes for shelter children as her Bat Mitzvah community service project.
  • Charlotte and Maya (ages 16) were Student Leaders for G4G’s “Bear Hug” (stuffed animal) drive to benefit children at area shelters and Children’s Hospital and helped collect over 400 stuffies!
  • Rose (age 17) cooked numerous meals for women and families at a G4G partner shelter.
  • Charlie, Aaron, DeAndre and Phillip (ages 16) collected lightly-worn sneakers from friends and sold them on Depop, raising $325 that  they donated to G4G to buy holiday gifts for families in shelters.
  • Cynthia (age 15) led an effort in her neighborhood to gather winter accessories for G4G’s coat, scarf, gloves and hat drive. She collected 50 items to help keep people experiencing homelessness warm.
