We are thrilled  to announce that Goods for Good is now a fully incorporated nonprofit organization 501(c)3 with a board of directors and a new office space. In response to the ongoing needs in our communities for support and services, coupled with a strong desire among our volunteers to stay involved, we established a more permanent presence.  We will continue the work we began during the pandemic to support our more vulnerable neighbours and strengthen our communities through collective acts of kindness.

In a little over a year, we have grown  from 6 to 900 volunteers, completed more than 30 successful projects, and partnered with 30 community nonprofits to provide goods and services that address housing, food insecurity, education inequity, health and quality of life in the DC area. Hear some of our story on this newly released Truman Charities podcast.

As the needs of struggling communities continue to increase, it is clear we need to take the next steps in our growth.  Goods for Good needs strong systems in place to support our expanding projects, increase the number of volunteers, and build a deeper involvement with partner nonprofits and communities in need.

We have secured a space at 5830 Nebraska Ave NW (on the campus of the Episcopal Center for Children) at which we can collect, organize and store more items, thus increasing the number of those we can serve. This also creates a Volunteer Hub where we can host groups (safety conscious) to work on various service projects and build our sense of community.

We established a  board of directors whose members are: Elizabeth Workman (President/Executive Director), Maria Nagorski (Chair), Reginald Grant (Treasurer), and Stacey Marien (Secretary).  Elizabeth will continue to lead the organization as Executive Director, with the support of a core group of volunteer leaders.

We are small and fierce. We are volunteer-powered and committed to making a difference in thousands of lives in our community.  We hope you will join us in doing GOOD. Please check out our website and look for more news and opportunities to engage in our work in the coming weeks.

We rely 100% on individual donations and, with very low overhead, make the most out of every contribution we receive. We are excited that Stacey Marien (Volunteer and Secretary of the Board) and Roberto Massarin (Volunteer) are offering a matching gift opportunity where they will match dollar for dollar up to $2000 through March 28th. Please consider making a donation by visiting our website and clicking on the donation button and help us turn $2000 into $4000. Your monetary gift can help Goods For Good do more and increase our impact and services during this critical year as we build a strong and strategic-focused organization.

Thanks for doing GOOD!
