September Project: More Than a Meal — Casseroles with Heart
| Make healthy, delicious casseroles for seniors and families experiencing food insecurity. 1. Make one—or make 20! Sign up to make casseroles for G4G’s community partners: Capital Hill Village, Karin’s House/SOME, Thrive DC, and Kingdom Care Village. 2. Be a “Chef for Good.” Love to cook and want to feed lots and lots of people? Great for teenagers earning service hours! Cook a large quantity of casseroles and G4G will reimburse you for the ingredients. 3. Donate to support our Chefs for Good. Help G4G’s teenage chefs purchase the ingredients they need to make large quantities of casseroles. Any amount helps! 4. Come join G4G! On September 17, 4-5:30 pm, elementary school students accompanied by a caregiver can create meal kits for neighbors in need. Sign up now. You can view the details before you commit, then cook, share, and make a difference. Casseroles can be dropped off anytime through September 30 at any G4G Ally location. |
Ongoing Projects
NEW!!! Donate fur coats. G4G will send all unwanted fur clothes to sanctuaries to use in the care of orphaned wildlife. You can drop off at any Ally location.
Celebrate a Child’s Birthday. Create a personalized birthday celebration box for a child living in a shelter. Your thoughtful gift brings joy, dignity, and a sense of normalcy to a child on their special day — and it means the world to their family.

Cook/Make a Meal. Turn your love of food into a powerful act of kindness. Prepare and deliver a homemade meal — whether a full dinner or a set of bagged lunches — for residents at local shelters. It’s a simple way to nourish both bodies and spirits.
