Elizabeth Workman
Founder/Director
Elizabeth brings over 30 years of experience in the DC nonprofit sector, with a deep commitment to supporting children, families, and vulnerable communities. She began her career at Sasha Bruce Youthwork, where she spent a decade leading programs for at-risk youth, and later served as Deputy Director of Fair Chance, helping build the capacity of grassroots nonprofits. She holds a B.A. from George Washington University and an M.A. from American University. In 2018, Elizabeth founded Goods for Good — a labor of love inspired by community and fueled by the support of her husband Mark and their two daughters, Maddie and Charlotte.


Maria Nagorski
Board Chair

Maria is a recently retired nonprofit leader with more than 30 years of experience in leadership development, capacity building, advocacy, and social justice — both in the U.S. and internationally. She has held key leadership roles throughout her career, including Executive Director of Fair Chance, founding Executive Director of the Center for Youth as Resources, and Deputy Director of the National Crime Prevention Council. Her international work includes training and consulting for organizations such as the Peace Corps, the U.N. World Food Program, and the International Youth Foundation. Maria was appointed to President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and is a Purpose Prize Fellow. She is also an active member of Leadership Greater Washington. A long-time resident of Washington, DC, Maria continues to serve the community as a board member of Open City Advocates and Generation Hope.


Maggie Kennedy
Board Treasurer

Maggie is a retired nonprofit leader with decades of experience in public service, educational equity, and youth development. She holds a B.A. from Barnard College and an M.B.A. from George Washington University. She spent 20 years with the See Forever Foundation and Maya Angelou Schools, helping grow a small program into a nationally recognized network serving over 500 youth — including those in juvenile detention. A longtime DC resident and education advocate, Maggie now serves on the board of BreakFree Education, supporting incarcerated youth.


Barb Power
Board Secretary
Barb holds a B.A. in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College and has spent much of her career in tech—developing software and managing teams in both startups and large corporations. She also served as Admissions Director at Duke Ellington School of the Arts, improving systems and outreach. Most recently, Barb was Operations Director at Fireside 21, overseeing operations, client services, and compliance. A dedicated community volunteer, she has led parent groups, chaired long-term projects, and brings her passion for service to Goods for Good.
