High Schoolers: Get Involved. Make an Impact.

G4G is currently accepting Youth Action Board (YAB) applications from high school students! Learn more about the program, then apply for this opportunity to make a difference, serve your community, and grow as a leader. Application deadline: September 25, 2026

High school students (grades 9–12) have many ways to make a difference with G4G. Join us for year-round and monthly service projects, or take your involvement a step further by leading a project, engaging your friends, neighbors, and family — or bringing your school or community together to Do Good.

You can also join G4G for in-person and on-site volunteer opportunities throughout the year. G4G announces these activities with a sign-up link in our newsletter, listservs and through schools (as allowable).

SSL/community service hours are provided.

Please complete the form below to express your interest, and a G4G team member will be in touch with next steps.

Youth Action Board

Are you a high school student in the DMV who wants to lead, serve, and make an impact? Apply to G4G’s Youth Action Board (YAB)! YAB members spend October-May of the school year serving local neighbors, learning about community needs, developing personal and professional skills, and growing as leaders.

SSL/community service hours are provided.

Participation in YAB is through an application process. The application deadline for the 2026–2027 school year is September 25, 2026. Apply NOW!

Eligible students must:

  • Be a high school student (grades 9–12) in the DMV area
  • Want to take on a youth leadership role at G4G and participate in—and help lead—community service projects
  • Enjoy working with a team of like-minded students
  • Have reliable transportation to attend meetings and activities consistently and on time

YAB Participation Commitment

YAB members are expected to commit approximately 6–8 hours per month, from at least October through March. This includes:

  • Bi-weekly, in-person meetings each month (at G4G’s headquarters, 5830 Nebraska Ave NW)
  • Individual participation in G4G monthly service projects
  • Consistent attendance and active participation throughout the program

Because YAB is a team commitment, reliable attendance is essential. Members may have a maximum of three excused absences during the program/school year. Before applying, please consider whether you have the time, availability, and commitment needed to fully participate in YAB.

Deadline to apply is September 25, 2026.
